A massage therapist since 2001, Miriam uses an integrated therapy approach which gives her clients a non-intrusive, wholistic and unique treatment.
Miriam is a qualified remedial massage and lymphatic drainage therapist. Over the years she has undergone additional specialised training in craniosacral therapy, chronic sinus conditions, pregnancy massage, oncology massage and positional release therapy.
It is with these skill sets and knowledge that allows Miriam to asses her client’s muscular, skeletal, lymphatic (immune) and craniosacral (central nervous system) systems. By blending the different therapy techniques into the one treatment it facilitates with rebalancing the whole body.

THERAPIES
Combining techniques can greatly benefit the overall treatment; for example: craniosacral and lymphatic drainage can really assist the body in elevating chronic sinus problems.
Using lymphatic drainage during a pregnancy massage can reduce swelling in the ankles and feet.
To release the superficial layering of muscles, craniosacral techniques can be applied, so the remedial treatment results are more permanent.
Sporting injuries will cause lymphatic dysfunction. Applying simple lymphatic techniques with a sports massage will help with the rehabilitation process.
As part of the treatment Miriam provides her clients with corrective exercises that they can perform on their own, thereby bringing added benefit to the treatments. Being able to confidently perform stretches and strengthening exercises will help assist you with having a well balanced body, a body in tune.

A Remedial Massage is a technique that eases muscle tensions and other associated muscle stresses. It is a combination of deep flowing movements and stretches to help rectify range of movement restrictions. The pressure of this massage really depends on what would benefit you the most, normally firm but still extremely relaxing.
This is a very unique style of treatment. It is said to be very calming and the body structure corrections are incredibly powerful though at the same time very subtle. This therapy is designed to release painful muscles spasms in a gentle manner. It is an invaluable tool for remedial massage and craniosacral therapists in treating sports injuries, chronic muscle strain and ongoing pain discomforts of any description. The treatment consists of light therapeutic touch on tender points and moving the body into a position of comfort and ease, allowing the muscles involved and their fascia layers to gently release. As well as restoring the central nervous system and assisting in balancing the cellular fluids.
For a wholistic full body treatment it is recommended to opt for a 1.5 hour session.
An Oncology massage differs from a 'standard' remedial massage by which it is adapted to an individual with a history of cancer in the present moment. Caution is taken with the amount of applied pressure, the areas not to be massaged and the comfort of the client when either lying or in a sitting position. Through this style of massage scientific research has shown that pain, fatigue, anxiety, depression and nausea can be reduced, without contributing to further health risks.

A Manual Lymphatic Drainage is an extremely light, slow moving, relaxing massage treatment. It is designed to help the body clear out the excess build up of toxins and bacteria. This is an amazing treatment as it is very beneficial for a variety of aliments, such as, chronic sinuses, oedema, recurrent ear problems, arthritis, chronic fatigue and lymphatic dysfunction.
Do you suffer from swimmers ear, sore throat, tinnitus, sinusitis, chronic headaches or any sort of ongoing problem relating to the head and ear area?
Making sure the lymph system and metabolism is running smoothly can clear your problem! In this hour treatment, a good part of the first half hour will be spent on clearing the ear and general face area, through Lymphatic Drainage. This prepares your body for the candling. Each candle takes approximately 15 minutes to burn and is completely safe and pain free.
